Transfer flow redesign

— Intro

Overview

In Shine's Banking team, two squads are working on the release of new features around transfers: sub-accounts, instant transfers and international transfers. For all these features, it is about sending money from one account to another.

The goal of this project is therefore to redesign a modular user journey for each type of transfer.

Workshops

In order to start the design thinking, I organized 1 workshop with the product designer of the other banking team. The goal was to gather the specificities of each type of transfer in order to identify the similarities. After this first phase we did a crazy 8 to generate initial ergonomic ideas.

Ideation and rebranding

This project is part of a global rebranding of Shine that wants to display a more mature brand image.
We also had differences between the mobile and web experiences, which we want to handle during this redesign. For example, it was not possible to schedule a transfer on the web application.

After a series of tests, we converged on a standard screen that we were able to adapt to the different types of transfers.

Outcome

The release of this feature has been well received by our users. It has increased upgrades at Shine by 14%. Of all upgrades, 30% are related to multi-wallet flow. The balance on our customers' accounts has also increased.

Sub-accounts are a new building block that will allow Shine to offer more services to its customers, such as automated payments to dedicated accounts, or the possibility of sharing access to specific accounts.
